About Me & My Approach

About Me

Hello, I’m Cherrelle, a qualified Integrative Counsellor based in London, dedicated to providing personalised counselling for adults – whether individually, as couple/in relationships, or in groups. I work with a wide range of challenges including anxiety, depression, trauma, bereavement, relationship difficulties, low self-esteem, and life transitions.

Having navigated my own emotional ups and downs, I understand how overwhelming life can feel at times. It’s completely normal to feel “kinda crazy” when life throws a lot at you. My personal experiences and desire to understand people fuels my passion for helping others find clarity, healing, and balance.

I have a BSc in Psychology, a Diploma in Integrative Counselling, and a Certificate in Couples / Relationship Therapy. I am a registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and adhere to their Ethical Framework, ensuring a safe, confidential, and professional environment for all my clients.

My goal is to create a compassionate space where you can feel truly heard and understood, and where you can explore your experiences without judgment. I believe everyone has the inner resources to grow and heal, and I’m here to support you in discovering and strengthening those resources.

My Approach

My counselling practice is grounded in empathy, respect, and collaboration. I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to support you in uncovering your inner strengths and developing new ways to cope, grow, and heal.

I offer a warm, non-judgmental space where you can freely explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we’ll work through your challenges—whether related to stress, relationships, trauma, or personal growth—and move towards your goals at a pace that feels right for you.
As an Integrative Counsellor, I tailor each session to your unique needs, drawing from a variety of therapeutic approaches, including:

  • Humanistic Therapies (Person-Centred Therapy): Focusing on your personal experience and self-discovery.
  • Psychodynamic Therapies: Exploring unconscious patterns and early life influences that may impact your current wellbeing.
  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT): Identifying and changing unhelpful thinking patterns and behaviours to improve emotional health.

This flexible approach allows us to adapt as your needs evolve, ensuring that the support you receive is always relevant, personal, and meaningful.

Diversity and Inclusion

Here at Normal Kinda Crazy, I embrace difference and diversity and aim to create a safe, empathic, and non-judgemental space where clients feel respected and valued regardless of their identities or experiences.

Being a Black Woman living in London, to name just a few of my intersectional identities, coupled with my life experiences, I recognise the complexity of intersectionality — the way multiple social identities like race, gender, sexuality, class, disability, and more overlap to shape each person’s unique experience. This understanding helps me to be empathetic to the experiences of others, allowing me to be curious and try to understand your experiences, from your viewpoint, and understand how these have impacted you, validating each your individual story and systemic challenges you may face.

By fostering cultural humility, ongoing self-reflection, and education, I actively work to dismantle biases and power imbalances within the therapeutic relationship. I provide an affirming environment for clients of all sexual orientations and gender identities, including LGBTQIA+ individuals, and respect diverse relationship practices. This approach allows space to support clients in exploring their identities and experiences without fear of discrimination or judgement, promoting trust and therapeutic progress.

Ultimately, I am committed to inclusivity, equality, and social justice, ensuring that every client can engage authentically and feel genuinely seen, heard, and understood.
